Goalkeeper Throw
Be sure that when you gain possession of the ball that you pass it to a teammate instead of merely clearing it out of the area.
Throwing is a quick method to initiate a counter-attack. Typically you will throw somewhat to the side of the field. Your first look should usually be to the opposite side of where the attack came from. Defenders and midfielders should know to break for open space when they see that the keeper has secured the ball.
For a short quick throw, take the ball back just over your shoulder with a bent arm, moving your opposite arm and leg forward in preparation, then bring your throwing arm forward quickly from the shoulder as you fling your forearm forwards and downwards.
For a long throw you can use more of a javelin motion with an overarm throw.
